The Y Careers evaluation will take a co-design and reciprocal approach to engage meaningfully with people involved in the program, to produce rigours evaluation and learning insights.
A not for profit social enterprise startup of Y Australia, Y Careers is committed to create 30,000 job placements for up to 15,000 young Australians nationally in the care economy over five years, supplying meaningful employment opportunities for young people and assisting employers facing critical workforce shortages. With establishment funding support from the Australian government, Y Careers will design these supports and services and roll out a pilot from 2024 to 2025.
Melbourne Social Equity Institute is the evaluation partner to Y Careers, co-developing and implementing a Performance Monitoring and Evaluation framework and the evaluation process with Y Careers in the pilot stage of the five-year program.
This project will bring together diverse expertise from the research team on evaluation and outcomes measurement, social economy and inclusive employment, and community engaged and co-productive research.
