Measuring impacts and aggregating insights about the Victorian social enterprise sector: a data and evaluation platform

Providing social enterprises with a longitudinal measurement tool

Social enterprises regularly identify measuring and communicating their impacts as a core organisational challenge. This project is building an online platform, Seedkit, that enables social enterprises to better measure and communicate their organisational characteristics and social impacts.

Co-designed with Victorian social enterprises and others in the ecosystem, Seedkit will provide individual organisations with a longitudinal measurement tool, as well as a suite of resources that help organisations build their evaluation and impact measurement capacity. The project will also generate sector-level insights reports for social enterprises and government, drawing on aggregated data from the tool.

This project is supported by the Victorian Government as part of its Social Enterprise Strategy 2021-2025 commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the sector’s data, evaluation and monitoring skills.

This project is a partnership between Centre for Social Impact Swinburne and Melbourne Social Equity Institute, with funding from the Victorian Government. SEEDkit is being codesigned with Victorian social enterprises and is supported by a project steering group involving social enterprises, intermediaries, government and investors.
