Antenatal screening for family violence with migrant south Asian women in Australia

Project Description

Family violence is a major public health issue worldwide, particularly among pregnant women. In Australia, women from migrant and refugee backgrounds can often be particularly vulnerable due to limited access to education and employment, being unable to speak English or even drive. By evaluating the antenatal screening processes for family violence used by health professionals, this research aims to improve the existing health care response to refugee and migrant women and add innovative knowledge for future strategies for reducing family violence.
