Violence prevention and respectful relationships education in early childhood
The prevention of violence against women and respectful relationships education is an important focus of the Victorian Government's 10 year State Plan to Prevent Violence Against Women and the Federal Government's National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children. While there is growing momentum for this work through programs in schools, workplaces, sporting clubs, local government and the media, there has been a lack of prevention work in an early childhood context.
This project aims to contribute to an interdisciplinary discourse concerning ways of operationalising violence prevention approaches within social policy across the life course, starting in early childhood.
