Mental Health and Society

Promoting mental health and wellbeing across the community.

Mental health and wellbeing are shaped by society and social inequities are associated with an increased risk of mental health conditions. The aim of this research program is to support interdisciplinary research relating to mental health across all stages of life in order to reduce risks associated with mental health conditions and to promote mental health and wellbeing across the community.

The program focuses on using research methods that give a central place to the voice of people who have lived experience of mental health challenges and conditions.

This research program is led by Associate Professor Bridget Hamilton and Associate Professor Helen Stokes.
