A group of researchers supported by the Melbourne Social Equity Institute is looking for students who would be interested in participating in a new project that seeks to better understand African students’ sense of belonging, inclusion, and participation at the University of Melbourne.

The Sense of Belonging for African students at the University of Melbourne project aims to explore the experiences of African students (that is, African Australian domestic students and African international students) at the University, with an aim of improving their university experiences and wellbeing. The research findings will be published in a report and will assist in the recruitment and retention of African students at the University of Melbourne.

Eligible participants of the study are African students, aged 18 years and over, who are currently studying at the University of Melbourne. Should you agree to participate in the project, a member of the research team will talk with you in an interview or a focus group session for about 60 to 90 minutes.

At the end of the interview or focus group session, you will be offered a $50 gift voucher as a gesture of appreciation.
