Community Engagement Workshop (Internal Only)
The Melbourne Social Equity Institute is partnering with the University of Melbourne's Researcher Development Unit to present this event for staff and graduate researchers.
Communities are engaged, to varying degrees, in many forms of research. ‘Community-engaged research’ describes a spectrum of approaches that aim to support community participation in, engagement with, and benefit from research.
These approaches can increase the relevance, reach and rigour of research, but can also throw up methodological, practical and ethical challenges for researchers committed to developing equitable and reciprocal relationships with the communities they are researching with.
In this workshop, we will hear from early career researchers from a diverse range of disciplines on their experiences of conducting research in collaboration with communities.
