Join us as mental health activists, people with lived experience, performers and academics discuss the intersections between creativity and mental health and how co-designed research can lead to new insights.  This event will also celebrate the launch of Sue Anderson’s book One Mind’s Manifesto, a memoir described as ‘colourful’, ‘vivid’ and ‘honest’.

The panel discussion, chaired by Dr Anna Arstein-Kerslake, the Academic Convenor of the Disability Research Initiative, will hear from:

  • Julie McNamara a theatre director, playwright, producer, actor and poet,
  • Prof Jane Davidson the Professor of Creative and Performing Arts at the VCA & MCM,
  • Dr Victoria Palmer the Lead Investigator on the CORE Study at the Melbourne Medical School, and
  • Duncan Cameron a community member on the Mental Health Tribunal

Following the panel discussion, Prof Bernadette McSherry, the Director of the Melbourne Social Equity Institute, will speak with author Sue Anderson and formally launch her memoir One Mind’s Manifesto.

Limited signed copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.

This event is hosted by the Melbourne Social Equity Institute and the Disability Research Initiative.
